The Empty Cage by Lise Deharme [trans. Franklin Rosemont]

I missed
the book of my life
one night
when they forgot
to put a sharp pencil
next to my bed.

  1. very nice, OmbudsBen. i think you’ve done Deharme proud there. incidently i don’t know anything about her, I should find out more. i just saw her in the aforementioned anthology – it doesn’t really strke me as surreal though, as the souce says…hmmm

If anyone else out there gets inspired by something i put up, feel free to post responses like this fine upstanding fellow has done. I dunno, i’m saying this cos i think some of my readers might see this site as some kind of one-man-show-type-deal. nonsense. interaction is good. The Hare doesn’t (always) bite.
